Appointbox vs ANS, honestly
ANS (Aesthetic Nurse Software) was built by an aesthetic nurse for aesthetic nurses, and for a solo nurse content with a starter system it is fair value. We make Appointbox, so this page has a bias and says so. What keeps it useful: the prices with VAT stated, the sources named, and a plain statement of where ANS is the better choice.
Short answer: Choose ANS if you are a solo nurse who wants the cheapest purpose-built starter system and values facial mapping and batch recording above everything else. Choose Appointbox if you want the register checked for you every day, the face-to-face rule enforced in the booking, a diary that refills cancellations in order, and a flat published price that does not climb when you add a second practitioner.

Where ANS is genuinely stronger
Price at the bottom of its range, and focus. Facial mapping with injection points, LOT/batch and expiry recording, and medical-history forms patients complete at home were built by a practising nurse, and it shows. If you are a single-handed nurse already running on ANS, the switching cost may well outweigh the gain, and we would say so on a call.
Where Appointbox is stronger
- The register is checked for you. Your NMC PIN is refreshed against the register every 24 hours; a lapse shows on your profile before a patient finds out the hard way. How the prescribing record is built.
- Face-to-face is in the booking, not the policy. The clinical gate insists on consultation-first for a patient with no history, records the location, and logs any reason for a remote override.
- The diary defends itself. A cancellation is offered to the waitlist in order, automatically; deposits hold the slot.
- The price does not move with headcount. Clinic is £99 flat for up to five practitioners; growth is a step, not a per-seat multiplier.
The honest caveats on both sides
ANS: no independent review score we could find on any major platform, light reporting, and scale figures that differ between its own pages. Appointbox: the newest entrant in the set, a shorter integration list than the decade-old platforms, and no review score yet. Neither product replaces your own clinical judgement, and neither claims to.
